Tobias Carlisle's Acquirer's Multiple — enterprise value divided by operating earnings. By using EV instead of market cap, it adjusts for debt and cash. By using EBIT instead of net income, it strips out capital structure and tax noise. A stock at 5× EV/EBIT earns a 20% pre-tax yield on the acquirer's all-in purchase price.
